CHANGE is an advanced international research project, implemented by experts of the Mental Health Center of the National University "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", NGO "Words help" in cooperation with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). A qualified team of researchers and specialists has developed and is testing a new program of psychological assistance for men, who are stressed by the war and drink alcohol, to relieve tension.

Who can participate??

• Men, 18+ who are experiencing stress and
• Those who drink alcohol, to relieve tension (1-3 times a week) and
• Who live in Kyiv and Kyiv region or Dnipro and Dnipropetrovsk region and
• May be available for 3 months to participate in research activities (face-to-face or online)

What a benefit?

• free psychological support (up to 6 consultations, 60-90 min) on the condition of getting into the group, who works with a consultant**

**People will be compared to determine the effectiveness of the program, who will complete this program, and persons, who will not do this. We will be able to provide such conditions thanks to the random distribution of participants into two groups:

(1) group, which will visit 5-6 sessions with the program consultant, duration 60-90 min. and
(2) control group, which will not participate in the program.

Participants will be asked to complete two surveys - at the beginning and after 3 months, for participation in which a mobile phone top-up will be offered 250 UAH. or a certificate from Silpo.

The project is financed by the partnership of the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) and the Welcome Trust Foundation and is implemented in Ukraine by the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, GO “Words help” jointly with the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
