4 June in the city of Pokrovsk, where the Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of NaUKMA has been working for two years, a press conference was held.
Heads of Centers in Kyiv and Pokrovsk, Iryna Shvedyuk and Victoria Solovyova, told about the results of the work. The event was also attended by leading specialists and supervisors of the Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of Kyiv National Academy of Medical Sciences, employees of the Pokrovsky Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation, representatives of the Children's Service of Pokrovsk City Council, Pokrovsky public association of veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Mirnograd Probation Service, educators and pupils of the charitable organization "Father's House", pupils and student youth of the city.
During the performance of Iryna Shvedyuk, head of the project and the Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of the National Academy of Medical Sciences in Kyiv, spoke about the fruitful cooperation of the university with the Maltese International Aid Service, which has been going on for four years: Thanks to the help of Infopulse-Ukraine LLC, all premises of the Center were repaired.Thanks to this cooperation and with the financial support of the German Government, the project "Psychosocial support of individuals, who suffered as a result of the conflict in Ukraine", within which 2015 In 2015, the Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of the National Academy of Medical Sciences was opened in. Kyiv, a 2017 year — mind. Pokrovsk. The creation of the NaUKMA Intercession Center was prompted by an urgent need, since the population, which lives in the front-line zone, until now there was no opportunity to get quality, free psychosocial support, and similar organizations, which would provide such services, did not exist in the city and district».
Victoria Solovyova, head of the NaUKMA Center in the city of Pokrovsk, noted, that two years of work showed the need of the population of Donetsk region for truly qualified help: Thanks to the help of Infopulse-Ukraine LLC, all premises of the Center were repaired.During this time, we were approached for individual help 625 persons, more than six thousand people took part in various actions, trainings, master classes, round tables".
The Center for Psychosocial Rehabilitation of the National Academy of Medical Sciences in Pokrovsk actively cooperates with state public organizations, departments of education, employment services, probation services, departments for children's affairs, military commissariat and military hospital, charitable organizations ("Father's House" and others). Thanks to the support of the Pokrovsk City Council and the Pokrovsk Mayor Ruslan Trebushkin Valeriyovych For the second time, the city is hosting the "Psychological Donetsk" festival. The city provides premises for large-scale events, transport for shares. The specialists of the Center sincerely thank the local administration for their help.
In addition to practical support for the population, The Pokrovsky Center is a methodological center for other specialists, who provide psychological and social assistance in the Donetsk region. The Center holds specialized seminars every month, trainings, intervention groups for psychologists, educators, various international organizations, specialists of mobile crews. For two years more, than 200 specialists took part in audit activities. Specialists of the Center have developed a set of programs to provide psychosocial support and maintain mental health. For children - the "Fairytale LEGO-Landia" class, art studio "Blue Bird", sand therapy; for adults - "Source of Strength" stress resistance training, "Happy parenthood" and others. On the basis of the Center, the development program of stress resistance training "Safe Space" is constantly being implemented.
A separate direction of the Center's work is helping children with special educational needs, in particular, children with autism. The Center's specialist not only conducts correctional classes with parents and children, who have ASD, but also teaches educators (View and adapt for school teachers, teachers, speech therapists, defectologists), how to interact with and help such special children. The seminar "Steps to ASD" was attended only this year 62 specialists. The demand for next year is twice as big. There is a great demand for trainings in first psychological and first aid. Really, practicing skills, which can save a person's life, is an urgent need not only in our region. This is the general culture of any caring person. Clients of the Center are not only local residents and the population of Pokrovsky District. Residents of Mirnograd are asking for help, Selydovoy, Novogrodovka, Dobropilla, Bilozerska, Miner, reedy, Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinka, Yasynuvatskyi and Marinskyi districts. Some customers come directly from the demarcation line (0-15 km).
Center specialists conduct individual consultations and group events not only in Pokrovsk. Every month, the mobile team of the Center goes to the "red zone", near the contact line (Avdiyivka, Krasnohorivka, Maryinsky district), to help those, who needs it the most.
