First aid

National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy, with the support of the German Foreign Ministry, German humanitarian assistance, Malteser International and the Maltese Aid Service of Ukraine conduct first aid training.

The purpose of the training is to master the basic knowledge of providing first aid and practice the practical skills of the participants, practicing in the field of activities with victims of the military conflict in Ukraine, in particular internally displaced persons, ATO participants and members of their families, local population in the East of Ukraine.


Duration: 8 year


The training includes the following questions:

  1. What is an accident??
  2. Search for help and emergency call
  3. Two life-saving techniques
  4. Practice of indirect heart massage
  5. Compression bandage / Stopping threatening bleeding
  6. Anti-shock position
  7. Help with injuries (applying bandages)
  8. Immobilization
  9. Cooling for burns
  10. Warming with hypothermia
  11. Correct behavior in the event of an accident
  12. Personal safety during first aid measures
  13. Working out the Rautek method
  14. Airway patency
  15. Blows between the shoulder blades and the Heimlich method
  16. First psychological help
  17. Psychiatric disorders
  18. Stable position on the side
  19. Prevention of accidents
  20. Viewing thematic video materials
