Supporting efforts to combat tuberculosis in Ukraine

During the implementation of the project, the project team will be able to achieve the following quantitative and qualitative indicators, which will make it possible to assess the quality and quantity of the results achieved in the framework of providing training and support to medical workers in the field of psychological care.

Quantitative indicator:  Qualitative indicators:  
Learning at least 120 medical workers.  Ensuring high quality training, evaluated through feedback from participants and experts.  
 Increasing the level of knowledge of medical workers in the field of psychological first aid, measured by pre- and post-training testing.  
 Provision of practical skills of medical workers in solving distress situations, evaluated through case studies, simulations or practical exercises.  
Supervisory support 120 medical workers (24 supervisory groups) for 4 months after completing the trainingProviding effective supervisory support, measured through participant and supervisor feedback.  
 Ensuring the development of skills and supporting participants in solving real problems, arising in practical activity.  
Building the capacity of teachers of teacher training institutes to teach the teacher training program on the creation of a safe psychological space and the formation of stress resistance.At least 15 teachers of teacher training institutes, who in the future will be able to teach a training course for teachers on creating a safe psychological space and building resistance to stress will undergo training as trainers of the "Safe Space" change program for teachers and will receive supervisory support;  
 Teachers of teacher training institutes will learn to stabilize the psychological state of teachers, introduce recovery techniques, and form self-help skills in teachers; learn to provide basic knowledge about the impact of traumatic stress on the body and psyche and age-related reactions to stress; will work out the specifics of providing information about 5 stress resistance factors; will familiarize themselves with and practice examples of psychosocial games, which can be applied during the lesson, and an algorithm for restoring social contacts during training
Building the capacity of teachers to create a safe psychological space and build resilience to stress in schoolchildren in project communities120 teachers will gain knowledge about strengthening students' resilience and strengthening their personal ability to overcome stress;
 Teachers will receive support, learn self-help techniques; learn to create an emotionally safe environment for children, recognize traumatized children, worry about them or even show trauma
 More 10 000 children in Ukraine will indirectly benefit through psychosocial support, carried out by teachers, who have completed training under the "Safe Space" program.

Geographically, the trainings will cover representatives of the following communities:

  • Zhytomyr region, Zvyagil community;
  • Rivne region, Dubrovnik community;
  • Vinnytsia region, Khmelnytskyi community;
  • Kyiv region, Makarov community;
  • Chernihiv region, Horodnya community;
  • Ivano-Frankivsk region, Horodenkiv community.
